About the Knights of Columbus Council #456

Our Council 456 was chartered in 1900.  Our social hall at 218 S. 4th St. was built in 1954.

Our 445 member organization is here to serve our 4 Lafayette parishes.  Our parish Roundtables have been providing some very successful monthly Sunday breakfasts at some of our parishes with proceeds supporting parish projects.   We have been known to be volunteer painters in parish grade schools and car garages.

Our main events in 2011 are:

·         Our 3rd annual K of C Father’s Day Golf Outing on Saturday June 18th,  supporting the Dr. Jim Pickerill  Tuition Assistance Fund by KofC Council 456 and Gilbault Home for Children.

·         The Inaugural K of C Car Show on the C.C. parking lot, July 9th.  Proceeds going to CC Capital Improvement Fund.
( see events & activities for further details on these 2 events)

Over the years we have engaged in many other charitable activities in our Parishes and in the local community. They include:

·         Providing financial support for seminarians & religious sisters.

·         Gibault Home for Children, Terre Haute, IN.

·         Pro-Life organizations in our community.

·         Lafayette Catholic School system, including our own Dr. Jim Pickerill Tuition Assistance Fund for incoming 9th grade students. (contact CCHS administration office for details).
Click here for the guidelines for qualifying applicants.

·         Providing a basketball free-throw competition for kids, boys & girls.

·         Installing and maintaining the Pro-Life monument on the grounds of CCHS.
